It is the heartfelt moments that make a wedding unforgettable. Fabienne of Fabigrafin, a wedding and family photographer based in Upper Franconia, captures these special moments with her camera. In this guest post, she reveals why these are the moments that turn into the most meaningful and lasting memories.
Who am I?
Hi, I am Fabienne, the photographer behind Fabigrafin. My name combines “Fabi” from my own name and “grafie” for photography, and that is how this passion project began.
Since April 2021, I have been working as a self employed photographer alongside my main profession, turning a long held dream into reality. My heart belongs to wedding and family photography, capturing everything from couples and maternity to newborns, children, and family milestones.
I love telling your story over the years, from your first baby bump to your wedding and the beautiful, lively moments of family life.
I am based in Upper Franconia and love traveling to capture your story wherever it takes place.

If you could keep only one photo from a wedding, which one would it be?
If I truly had to choose just one single image, it would not be a perfectly staged portrait, but an honest and unposed moment.
Maybe it is the moment right after saying “I do”. That brief second when everything falls into place. The way you look at each other, filled with relief, love, and that quiet feeling of “we really just did it”.
Or a photo of genuine tears of joy, when emotions simply overflow and cannot be held back.
And sometimes, it is the photos of the people closest to our hearts who have walked part of our journey with us, grandparents or beloved family members, people who may not be by our side forever.
In those moments, images take on an even deeper meaning. Because memories are like little journeys through time that bring us back to the people and moments we never want to lose.
In the end, it is not about perfection.
What remains is the feeling.
What responsibility do you carry as a photographer for preserving memories of a day that can never be repeated?
Wedding photography is about so much more than simply taking pictures. It captures a day filled with emotion, a day that will never happen again in the same way. As a photographer, I accompany moments that cannot be repeated, the “I do”, tears of joy, intimate embraces, or the first laughter as a married couple.
Technical reliability is one part, emotional awareness is the other. I make sure to be present at the right moment while remaining unobtrusive in the background. I observe, I connect with the emotions, and I think ahead so that I do not miss anything that will later mean so much to you.
Because in the end, these are not just images. They are memories of a day that will never be the same again. As a wedding photographer, I carry a great responsibility, because this day is unique and cannot be repeated. That is why I work not only with a lot of heart, but also with a well thought out and reliable approach.
At every wedding, I bring a backup camera in case of technical issues. I also photograph using two memory cards at the same time, so that every image is saved twice at the moment it is taken.
In addition, I change memory cards after key parts of the day such as getting ready, first look, civil ceremony, church, or the celebration. This ensures that important moments are already secured separately. Both empty and used memory cards are stored in special protective cases to keep them safe from moisture, impact, or other external influences.
As soon as I return home, I immediately back up all images to my computer. This means your memories are already secured at least three times. The original memory cards remain untouched until you receive your fully edited images, both in your online gallery and on your USB stick. In addition, both the RAW files and the edited images are stored on my server.
Only then are the memory cards formatted. Your wedding images remain permanently stored on my server, ensuring that your memories are safe for the long term.
Why do I also photograph families and children?
Because for me, it is more than just a photoshoot.
I am an early childhood educator, and you can feel that in my sessions.
I connect with children quickly and warmly, helping them feel at ease and turning the experience into something enjoyable instead of simply saying “please smile”.
Children have fun, they can be themselves, and that is exactly how natural and unposed images are created, full of genuine emotion.
And I truly love working with families.
There is something very special about being able to accompany them over the years:
🤍 Maternity
🤍 Newborn
🤍 Baptism
🤍 Family sessions
🤍 First day of school
🤍 Christmas sessions
Seeing children grow and capturing a part of their story with my camera is something that fulfills me every single time.
