A heartfelt hello
I am Doreen, also known as Dory, the face behind Dorygraphie.
I founded my small business in 2021 and have since been working as a photographer for weddings, people, and horses across the Bayreuth region, Bavaria, and Saxony.
My passion is to capture your heartfelt moments. At the same time, it is just as important to me that we create a beautiful and relaxed experience together, one that stays with you for years to come. Often, I quietly observe and capture those in between moments, and many people tell me they hardly notice me at all. When needed, I also gently guide you with my experience to create authentic and emotional images.
I do not want to stage anything. I want to photograph you as you truly are, sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, sometimes still, but always real. My style is warm, dreamy, rich in contrast, and deeply emotional. And I have a soft spot for magical light.
I want you to look at your photos years from now and instantly remember exactly how you felt in that moment.
For me, it is not about the perfect image. What matters most is that you feel comfortable in front of the camera, that there is a genuine connection, and that we enjoy the experience together. Because that is what you will see in your photos.
There are moments that couples often only recognize in hindsight, but that hold great meaning for me. The first glance before the ceremony, a familiar look during the photoshoot, a gentle touch that happens naturally. I capture all of this for you.
About me
• Born in Chemnitz in 1986
• Moved to Upper Franconia in 2003 for training in the medical field and have called it home ever since
• Married and a mother of two
• A horse girl at heart since childhood
People close to me would describe me as emotional, sensitive, kind, and a little chaotic at times, yet I truly love structure. My strengths are certainly my ambition, honesty, reliability, and creativity, while my perfectionism and occasional impatience can sometimes get in my way.
I speak my mind, have a naturally positive spirit, and love connecting with people. Beyond photography, I am passionate about sports and the mountains. My family is my greatest pride. Without my favorite people by my side, none of this would be possible. I am deeply grateful that they support my vision and stand behind me, even with some of my more unconventional ideas.
Equipment
An expensive camera alone does not create a great image. Over the years, however, I have invested in high quality equipment to ensure I can consistently deliver professional results. I usually work with two cameras, so I am always prepared in case one fails. I also use a variety of lenses to adapt to each situation and find the perfect perspective. To complete my setup, I use a drone, making even large group photos effortless.
Why horses are also part of my story
Horses have been part of my life since early childhood. As a teenager, I spent many years in competitive riding, and my pony from back then has been by my side for over 30 years. Everything started with horses, and my pony was also my very first model in front of the camera, long before I decided to turn photography into my profession.
I am deeply fascinated by these animals and passionate about capturing the unique connection between humans and horses.
